Science Systems and Applications, Inc (SSAI) seeks a Software Developer II to design, develop, and maintain modern full-stack web applications interfacing with relational and cloud data sources for mission-critical NASA OB.DAAC systems.

The role emphasizes scalable apps, API development, cloud deployments, and strong collaboration with analysts, architects, and other developers to support Earth science data access and processing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field; 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience building full-stack web apps with relational databases and REST APIs.
• Proficiency with Java, C#, Python, or Node.js; frontend with React/Angular/Vue.
• Experience with Git and modern DevOps practices.
• Ability to design secure, scalable cloud-based applications.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain full-stack web applications.
• Build responsive user interfaces and robust backend services.
• Develop applications that retrieve, process, and present data from relational and cloud-hosted databases.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and other service integrations.
• Collaborate with analysts and architects to translate requirements into solutions.
• Participate in code reviews and drive software quality and security improvements.
• Troubleshoot issues and implement enhancements.
• Support deployment, monitoring, and maintenance in cloud environments.
• Follow best practices including version control, testing, and documentation.
