Job summary

Zymo Research is seeking a motivated and talented individual to join our dynamic team. The role involves developing and maintaining web applications, internal tools, e-commerce sites and APIs that improve operational efficiency and user experience, supporting our mission of advancing scientific discovery.

You will work with senior developers on software projects, contribute to the codebase, participate in architectural design discussions, and learn best practices of software development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline; students in final year or pursuing a Master’s considered.
• Experience in React and/or Next.js, HTML, CSS.
• Experience in Python back-end frameworks such as Django and Flask.
• Experience in creating and using REST APIs.
• Experience in version control tools such as Git.
• Shopify or WordPress experience is a plus.
• Ability to leverage AI tools in development.

Responsibilities

• Learn and understand codebases of existing applications.
• Complete assigned software development tasks with good code quality in a timely manner.
• Contribute to new software projects from design and development to deployment.
• Contribute to maintenance and troubleshooting of applications.
• Develop internal tools and dashboards.
• Communicate with stakeholders and users about needs and requirements.
