Job summary

Zymo Research is seeking a motivated software development intern to join our team in Tustin, CA. The role involves building and maintaining web applications and internal tools, collaborating with senior developers, and learning best practices in full-stack development.

The ideal candidate has a foundation in front-end and back-end technologies, familiarity with React and Python (Django/Flask), REST APIs, Git, and a passion for scientific software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline; students in last year or pursuing Master’s considered.
• Experience with React and/or Next.js, HTML, CSS.
• Experience with Python backend frameworks such as Django and Flask.
• Experience in creating and using REST APIs.
• Experience with Git version control.
• Experience in developing Shopify sites is a plus.
• Experience in developing WordPress sites is a plus.
• Ability to leverage AI tools in development.

Responsibilities

• Learn and understand codebases of our existing applications.
• Complete assigned software development tasks with good code quality in a timely manner.
• Contribute to new software projects from design and development phases to deployment.
• Contribute to maintenance and troubleshooting of applications.
• Develop internal tools and dashboards.
• Communicate with stakeholders and users about their needs and requirements.
