Job summary

NISC is seeking a software developer on the Work Management team to design and build responsive web applications and stand up RESTful services. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver features that improve service orders, crew assignments, scheduling and inventory for utility and broadband members.

The role emphasizes container-driven development, cloud knowledge (AWS/Kubernetes), and applying modern software engineering practices, including automated testing and AI-assisted

Qualifications

• 1+ years of software development experience.
• Proficiency with Angular, TypeScript or GWT.
• Java or other object‑oriented programming experience.
• Experience with Postgres or Oracle databases.
• Experience with cloud tech stack (AWS, Kubernetes, Spring Boot, Kafka, SSO).
• Ability to develop responsive content and optimize performance.
• Understanding of modern software engineering principles.
• Knowledge of web trends, architecture, deployment patterns.
• Experience with automated testing (Unit, Integration, End-to-end).
• Experience with Git and branching/merging workflows.
• Understanding of TDD and acceptance criteria.
• Experience with JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo.
• Experience with AI coding tools (Claude Code, Augment, Jetbrains Junie, Copilot, Cursor, Codex).
