Job summary

Lyft is seeking a software engineering intern in New York City to work alongside top engineers and contribute to user-facing products. You will own your project, ship features, and learn through hands-on autonomy.

You should be pursuing a CS degree with an expected graduation between Dec 2027 and Summer 2028 and be available Summer 2027. Strong JS/Python skills, React experience, and an interest in testing and modern frontend tooling are required. This is an in-office role on a hybrid schedule.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a CS degree with graduation date between Dec 2027 and Summer 2028.
• Available Summer 2027 for internship in New York City.
• Strong CS fundamentals and frontend knowledge.
• Experience with React and scripting in Python/JS.

Responsibilities

• Own your project and coordinate with teammates.
• Refactor code to improve quality (progressive refactor).
• Value reliability with unit, integration and load tests.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure quality and knowledge transfer.
• Support CI/CD and continuous integration/deployment.
• Contribute to meaningful improvements for Lyft drivers and riders.
