Job summary

DISA Global Solutions in Tulsa, OK is seeking a Software Engineer to develop and maintain the Flagship Alert application and related APIs using PHP, Laravel, and MySQL. You will work in a Kubernetes-based environment, employing agile practices to deliver scalable, secure software.

The role emphasizes full-stack development, RESTful API integration, testing, and deployment orchestration with CI/CD pipelines, while adhering to SOLID principles and design patterns.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field with 2+ years of related work experience.
• Experience with software development life cycle practices, code reviews, source control, and CI/testing.
• Proficient in PHP, Laravel, JavaScript, SQL, HTML, CSS, and JSON.
• Strong relational database design with MySQL; knowledge of RESTful APIs and multi-tier architectures.
• Good OO design, design patterns, and SOLID principles.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain multiple software applications using PHP/Laravel and MySQL.
• Build and consume internal and 3rd-party RESTful APIs for multi-server communication.
• Adhere to engineering standards, SOLID principles, and common design patterns.
• Create unit/integration tests and perform server/performance testing with Laravel tooling.
• Debug backend and frontend code; use Xdebug and browser tools for troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with analysts and end users to convert requirements into software solutions.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies to deliver features within two-week sprints.
• Conduct code reviews and guide contractors and junior developers.
• Maintain and support existing custom software and assist end users via tickets.
• Monitor performance improvements and manage deployments via CI/CD to Kubernetes.
