Job summary

Riverside Research is seeking a Software Engineer to join the SWAT team in Fairborn, OH, to develop, integrate, and deploy software applications. The role emphasizes agile methods, CI/CD, and experience with REST APIs, containerization, and cloud/VM environments.

Candidates should have 3+ years in full-stack development, strong programming skills, and the ability to work across diverse teams while delivering practical, sustainable software solutions in a National Security nonprofit setting.

Qualifications

• 3+ years building full-stack applications.
• Experience designing and consuming REST APIs and documenting with Swagger/OpenAPI.
• Experience with Linux/Unix systems.
• Experience with CI/CD and tools like GitLab, Jenkins, Docker, Nexus 3.
• Experience building OCI-compliant container images.
• Experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Experience deploying to virtual machine environments.
• Ability to work in Agile teams and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, containerize, and test software applications.
• Define API specifications for high performance and scalability.
• Code, debug, test, and support utilities and frameworks.
• Document test cases and coordinate with QA to resolve issues.
• Configure CI/CD pipelines and manage build artifacts.
• Conduct security analyses on pipelines and deployments.
• Research state-of-the-art software solutions and apply them.
• Other duties related to software development.
