Job summary

Vantor is seeking a solution-driven Software Engineer to work onsite with U.S. Government customers on data collection, analytics, visualization, and workflow automation. You will handle large geospatial datasets, leverage cloud processing, and collaborate with analysts to translate mission needs into scalable software solutions.

Required: U.S. citizenship, TS/SCI clearance (CI poly), BS in CS or related field, 5+ years in software development, and proficiency in Java, Python, Go, or Rust.

  • Minimum 5 years of software development experience with design, development and implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable, mission-critical software solutions for IC/DoD.
  • Work with cloud stacks to extract, manipulate, transform, and visualize data.
  • Develop analytics and geospatial data products for analysts and users.
  • Collaborate with diverse engineering teams and users; apply DevSecOps practices.

You will work directly with analysts to understand mission needs and generate solutions. Technical tasks include ELT, managing, analyzing, and visualizing large sets of geospatial data to extract meaningful knowledge with cloud-based processing technologies and emerging data science techniques.We want a self-motivated engineer who is comfortable digging into data, trying innovative approaches, and isn't afraid to fail fast and move on to other techniques/ideas.Responsibilities:Design and implement efficient, flexible solutions that can scale for mission critical applications.Active in all aspects of the development lifecycle, including planning, requirements development, software design, implementation and build, documentation, testing, deployment and maintenance.Apply software standards and processes to produce high quality, extensible, and maintainable software solutions.Work with cloud tech stacks to perform data extraction, manipulation, transformation; visualization of geospatial-temporal data setsDevelop analytics/derivative data products to help users extract meaningful knowledgeProactive approach to trouble shooting and problem-solving issuesWork directly with users throughout the IC/DoD to understand their requirements and propose technical solutionsCollaborate with diverse teams of engineers, clients, and usersAbility to work full time onsiteMinimum Qualifications:US citizenship and a current TS/SCI clearance (with willingness to get a CI Polygraph).Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technology fieldsMinimum of 5 years demonstrated experience in software development, including design, development, and implementationProficiency in one multiparadigm programming language (Java, Python, Go, Rust, etc.)Experience with data extraction, manipulation, visualization, and analysis of large datasetsExperience designing and supporting cloud-based architectures, including AWS and C2S environmentsExperience working with NoSQL data stores such as Elasticsearch, MongoDB, or similar technologiesExperience developing and maintaining applications in cloud computing environmentsExperience working with containerization and orchestration technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes, in cloud or hybrid environmentsProficiency in Linux-based environmentsStrong problem-solving mindset and adaptability, with the ability to leverage emerging technologies to solve mission challengesFamiliarity with modern software development tools, DevSecOps practices, and CI/CD pipelinesAbility to work both independently and in a team environmentAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneouslyPreferred Qualifications:Experience with geospatial processing techniques, libraries and visualization toolsExperience working with remote sensing datasets, geospatial datasets / formats, sensor-based data streams and familiarity with government collection platforms.Experience working with Agile development methodologiesExperience working with open-source resources in a government computing environment#cjpost#LI-RDPay Transparency: To support pay transparency, Vantor includes salary ranges in all U.S. job postings. Starting pay for this role will fall within the listed range and will be based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills, location, and market conditions. Candidates who meet the minimum requirements for the role should not expect to receive compensation at the top of the range. The listed range reflects the expected pay for this position, and final offers will be determined based on each candidate’s experience, expertise, and alignment with the role.
