North Capital, a growing financial technology company, seeks a full-stack software engineer in Midvale, Utah. You will own features end to end, modernize a mature platform, and write clean, tested code focused on security and auditability.

Collaborate with the Director of Engineering and stakeholders to deliver production-ready solutions across securities APIs, trading systems, and investor platforms. Hybrid work with strong emphasis on autonomy and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, CS, or software engineering or equivalent experience.
• At least three years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language with ability to work in others.
• Strong commitment to testing and delivering high-priority work.
• Good collaboration with stakeholders and other engineers.

Job description

North Capital, a growing financial technology company, is seeking a full-stack software engineer. North Capital builds the technology behind private capital markets: the APIs, trading systems, and investor platforms that issuers, broker-dealers, and investors rely on to raise capital, trade securities, and move money. As a full-stack engineer working directly with our Director of Engineering, you will ship production code across a diverse set of products and languages, from our core securities API and alternative trading system to new work in secondary trading and tokenized securities. This role suits a highly skilled generalist who thrives with autonomy, works well as part of a team, and seeks to understand stakeholder needs while owning the work from design through production.

What You'll Do

• Own features end to end across the stack, from scoping and design through testing, deployment, and production support
• Continue to modernize a mature platform by improving code quality, test coverage, infrastructure, and security
• Write clean, well-tested code where correctness and auditability matter, including money movement and compliance workflows
• Review code and uphold high engineering standards across the team
• Work closely with stakeholders and other engineers to turn business needs into effective technical designs

What You'll Work On

• TransactAPI : our core securities transaction platform, covering investor onboarding, KYC/AML, offerings, trades, payments, and custody
• PPEX : an alternative trading system (ATS), including its real-time order matching engine
• BARC : our brokerage and advisory platform
• Agora : order routing for secondary trading
• New products : consumer and institutional investing products and blockchain initiatives

• Connecting trading partners over FIX for secondary trading
• Issuing securities as tokens on EVM-based blockchains
• Building and evolving our AWS infrastructure as code
• Modeling data and writing efficient SQL
• Designing beautiful, polished interfaces

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, computer science, software engineering, or equivalent experience
• At least three years of professional software engineering experience
• Proficiency in at least one programming language and the versatility to work in others

• Flexibility to adapt to changing requirements
• Fluency with Git, including branching, rebasing, and merging
• A strong affinity for the Unix shell and command-line tools
• Experience working effectively with AI coding harnesses

This position is based in Midvale, Utah. Current authorization to work in the United States on a full-time, permanent basis is required. Salary range $125,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience. Job Type: Full-time, hybrid. Three days a week in our Midvale, UT office, two from home. Exceptional remote candidates will be considered, with occasional travel to Midvale.
