Job summary

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is seeking a Software Development/Database Services co-op for the Bureau of Structures. The LTE position is full-time (40 hours/week) with potential remote work flexibility for part of the schedule, starting in May/June 2027 through December 2027/January 2028.

Work will involve full-stack development using C# or Java, SQL Server/Oracle data querying, and contributing to the Structures Data Warehouse and related systems.

Qualifications

• Pursuing BS/BA or MS in CS/IS with good academic standing.
• Interest in civil/structural engineering software development.
• Experience with C# or Java and SDLC concepts.
• Familiarity with documenting software and processes.

Responsibilities

• Assist lead engineer in upgrading key applications and data pipelines.
• Program in C# or Java; query data in SQL Server, Oracle, and Box.
• Research emerging technologies and document software processes.
• Support development of the Structures Data Warehouse and related tools.
