Job summary

MDMi is seeking experienced SaaS Engineers to join the Software + Solutions Engineer team in a hybrid Indianapolis setting. You will design, build, and maintain full-stack applications using Python, Django, React, and TypeScript for hosted and on-prem systems that ingest batch and streaming data.

You will collaborate across product, QA, UX, and engineering to deliver scalable, secure, multi-tenant SaaS capabilities, with a focus on performance, reliability, and observability in AWS cloud

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience building and supporting production web applications or SaaS products.
• Hands-on experience with Python and a modern web framework, preferably Django.
• Experience developing React applications using TypeScript.
• Experience designing, implementing, and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
• Experience deploying, operating, or supporting cloud-hosted applications, preferably in AWS.
• Experience with Docker and containerized development workflows.
• Experience with Git and collaborative software development practices, including pull requests and code reviews.
• Experience with automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate clearly about technical tradeoffs and risks.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative hybrid environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain full-stack web applications using Python, Django, React, and TypeScript.
• Build capabilities for a secure, scalable, multi-tenant SaaS platform serving engineering and scientific organizations.
• Help design tenant-aware patterns including data isolation, authorization, configuration, and controls.
• Design, document, and maintain secure REST APIs and backend services.
• Collaborate on cloud architecture, deployment approaches, and engineering practices for growth.
• Improve performance, scalability, reliability, and security of applications.
• Build and improve automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, release processes, and developer workflows.
• Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability for production systems.
• Troubleshoot production issues and contribute to durable improvements.
• Participate in sprint planning, estimation, code reviews, and Agile ceremonies.
• Collaborate with product, QA, UX, and engineering to deliver high-quality outcomes.
