Job summary

Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) seeks a Full Stack Java Developer in Lansing to design, build, test, and support applications including a mobile app for child support. You will collaborate with Architects, Analysts, and teammates to ensure solutions meet performance standards and business goals.

This role requires strong Java/Spring Boot, Angular, and SQL skills with a hybrid work schedule.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience with Java and OO programming.
Experience with Spring Boot and RESTful APIs.
Proficient in Angular for responsive single-page apps.
Strong SQL skills for data manipulation and reporting.
Familiar with Agile development and CI/CD tooling.
Understanding of secure coding practices and performance tuning.
Experience supporting Child Support applications or related initiatives.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and test application programs, including new development and enhancements to existing modules.
Provide production support, including issue analysis, bug fixes, testing, and deployment to production environments.
Collaborate with Application Architects and Business Analysts on functional and technical designs.
Develop and maintain technical documentation and participate in design reviews.
Analyze requirements, code, and test modules to ensure quality and alignment with specs.
Apply domain knowledge to all tasks and contribute to process improvements.
