Job summary

Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) seeks a Full Stack Java Developer to design, build, test, and support applications, including a mobile component for child support. You will work with Architects and Analysts to ensure technical solutions meet business goals and performance standards.

This role requires 5+ years in Java, Spring Boot, Angular, and SQL, plus Agile experience and CI/CD with Git.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience with Java and OO programming.
• 5+ years Spring Boot for REST APIs.
• 5+ years Angular for SPAs.
• 5+ years SQL for data manipulation.
• Familiar with Agile methodologies.
• Exposure to CI/CD and Git.
• Knowledge of secure coding and performance tuning.
• Experience supporting Child Support applications.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and test application programs including new development and enhancements to existing modules.
• Provide production support with issue analysis, bug fixes, testing and deployment to production environments.
• Collaborate with Application Architects and Business Analysts to confirm and validate both functional and technical designs.
• Develop and maintain necessary technical documentation and participate in design reviews as scheduled.
• Analyze requirements, code, and test simple to moderately complex program modules, ensuring quality and compliance with design specifications.
• Apply sound technical, industry, and domain knowledge to all tasks and project work.
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts in coding practices, system performance, and team processes.
