Job summary

Carnegie Mellon SEI is seeking an internship in the Cyber Mission Readiness Directorate (CERT) to collaborate with software engineers, learning engineers, and cybersecurity experts. You will contribute to open-source web applications used for cyber exercises, virtual labs, and online courses, including feature development, testing, and xAPI instrumentation.

The internship begins in Fall 2026 with the possibility to continue through Spring 2027.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a degree-granting program.
• Willingness to travel to SEI/CMU locations as needed.
• Eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Develop features and fixes for web applications (C#/.NET, Angular).
• Write automated tests (unit/integration/end-to-end).
• Instrument applications for xAPI and integrate AI features.
• Document and present work to the team.
