Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer for Flight Software at Cape Canaveral, FL. You will join the application software team that powers mission critical apps across SpaceX, advancing launch vehicle production and Starlink services.

The role emphasizes ownership, collaboration, and solving challenging problems on a fast-paced mission-driven team. Ideal candidates have strong full stack experience and proficiency with Python, C#.NET, Go, Scala, or Java, plus hands-on work with Docker

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or scientific discipline; OR 2+ years of professional experience building software in lieu of a degree
• Experience in full stack development
• Proficiency with Python, C#.NET, Go, Scala, Java, or similar OO language
• 1+ years of building single page web applications
• Experience with version control, CI/CD concepts
• Strong understanding of testing, CI, build, deployment & monitoring
• Expertise in profiling and improving application performance
• Experience with build systems and package management tools
• Experience with UNIX-like OS and infrastructure tools
• Experience with in-stream data processing using Kafka/RabbitMQ/ActiveMQ
• Production experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Database experience with PostgreSQL/SQL Server or similar

Responsibilities

• Develop highly reliable software solutions that are used across SpaceX
• Create new applications that improve how SpaceX operates
• Build prototypes to prove out key design concepts and quantify technical constraints
• Own all aspects of software engineering and product development
• Deep dive into users' problems to find and create efficient solutions
• Bring your voice to the table in team collaborations on architecture, design, and code reviews
