Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer for the Special Programs team in Hawthorne, CA. You will design, develop, and own high‑impact software powering simulations, emulation, and flight software across design‑build‑test‑ops pipelines.

Collaboration with engineering teams will drive scalable, high‑throughput systems for ground and space applications. Responsibilities include building full‑stack solutions, rapidly prototyping concepts, and maintaining high‑fidelity simulation software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or science discipline and 1+ years of experience in software development; or 3+ years of professional experience building software in lieu of a degree
• 1+ years of professional experience building full-stack, single page web applications using JavaScript libraries (React, Lit, etc.)
• Professional experience developing applications using Python, C, C++, or Rust
• Experience with relational databases (SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle)

Responsibilities

• Build full-stack solutions that manage analysis, prototypes, and vehicles by integrating simulation software, emulators, and flight software
• Rapidly develop prototypes that prove key design concepts and quantify technical constraints
• Create and maintain high-fidelity simulation and emulation software for all vehicles - always raising the bar for excellence
• Continuously improve the reliability, performance, and scalability of our simulation platforms
• Partner closely with users to design and deliver new features that dramatically improve their experience and productivity
