Chexy Co. is building modern financial tools for Canadians, with a focus on rent, tuition, insurance, and major bills. We ship a web app (Next.js), a mobile app (Expo/React Native), and a TS backend-for-frontend to serve both.

This role involves end-to-end feature delivery, API contracts, and strict schema enforcement across three codebases. The role emphasizes correctness, performance, and reliability in a payments context, with opportunities to contribute to design systems and AI-assisted

Qualifications

• 2+ years building production web or mobile apps in TypeScript and React.
• Experience with REST APIs, authentication, and a data layer.
• Attention to correctness: strong focus on types, schemas, and edge cases in fintech contexts.
• Experience with AI coding tools and integrating them into development workflows.

Responsibilities

• Ship features end-to-end for web (Next.js) and mobile (Expo/React Native) and the BFF that serves both.
• Build onboarding and activation flows to convert signups into paying users.
• Design and evolve strict BFF endpoints so web and mobile share a single contract.
• Contribute UI to the design system and help maintain UI consistency across apps.
• Instrument shipped features with Datadog RUM, structured logs, and alerts.
• Write end-to-end tests (Playwright) for critical flows.
• Review code and help uphold engineering standards.
