GEICO is seeking a skilled software engineer to scope, design, and build scalable distributed systems across the full software lifecycle. You will work with TypeScript, Java, C#, Python, Docker, Kubernetes, and Azure to drive architecture and observability.

Qualifications

• 2+ years programming experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React or Svelte
• 2+ years programming experience with at least one backend language such as Java, C++, or C#
• Experience contributing to architecture and design of new and current systems
• In-depth knowledge of computer science data structures and algorithms
• Understanding of Azure DevOps and operational portals
• Understanding of HTML5, JavaScript/TypeScript, XML, and JSON
• Understanding of microservices-oriented architecture and extensible REST APIs
• Understanding of monitoring tools
• Intermediate PowerShell scripting skills
• Intermediate networking concepts, including load balancers, reverse proxies, firewalls, DNS, and Kubernetes networking
• Understanding of PaaS and IaaS services
• Understanding of Active Directory, Windows Authentication, SAML, and OAuth
• Experience with datacenter structure and Azure native services
• Knowledge of developer tooling across the software development lifecycle
• Understanding of DevOps concepts, cloud architecture, and Azure DevOps operational framework
• Analysis, estimation, and problem-solving skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to excel in a fast-paced, startup-like environment
• 2+ years of non-internship professional full-stack software development experience
• 2+ years of experience with architecture and design
• 2+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service
• 2+ years of experience with open-source frameworks
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience
