Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a FULL STACK SOFTWARE ENGINEER (STARSHIELD) to join the Starshield team. You will build reliable software for remote sensor payloads across satellites, applying creative engineering to deliver an immersive Earth observation experience for users in diverse environments.

The role includes end-to-end software life cycle responsibilities, from prototyping to production, with opportunities to work on next-gen secure systems and space-grade applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, physics, mathematics, or STEM, or 2+ years of full stack experience.
• Development experience in C# and TypeScript, or equivalent full stack practice.
• Experience with web services and networks; cloud environments like AWS.
• Familiarity with Linux server environments, SSH, scripting, and configuration.
• Experience with Kubernetes or similar container orchestration frameworks.
• Experience with PostgreSQL or performant databases.
• Experience with image data processing and machine learning.
• Experience with graphics-intensive web app development.

Responsibilities

• Create highly reliable software systems that task remote sensor payloads on satellites in low earth orbit and process data.
• Build immersive earth observation experiences for users in offices or in the field.
• See software through from design to prototyping, development, testing, production rollout, and beyond.
