Onyx is building the market for people who enjoy being right. We are hiring a Full Stack Engineer to ship features across web and mobile using TypeScript, React, Node.js, PostgreSQL, and AWS.

You will own projects from idea to production and collaborate with product, design, trading, and operations to deliver reliable systems and experiences for users in regulated markets. Based in NoHo, Manhattan, this role requires authorization to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proficient in TypeScript, React, and Node.js.
• Experience building production-grade, full-stack applications.
• Understanding of relational databases, transactions, concurrency, and data consistency.
• Production experience with PostgreSQL and AWS.
• Comfortable building real-time, concurrent, or event-driven systems.
• Ability to move between frontend, backend, and infrastructure based on product needs.
• Ability to lead technical projects from planning to production.
• Move quickly while maintaining high quality, reliability, and customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship full-stack features using TypeScript, React, and Node.js.
• Develop customer-facing trading experiences across web and mobile.
• Build backend services supporting markets, orders, execution, positions, balances, and settlement.
• Design reliable APIs, real-time systems, and PostgreSQL workflows.
• Build and maintain production infrastructure in AWS.
• Integrate with exchanges, liquidity providers, payment systems, and financial partners.
• Improve system performance, observability, reliability, and fault tolerance.
• Partner with product, design, trading, and operations from concept through launch.
• Take ownership of the features and services shipped, including production operation.
