Job summary

Ark is building the engine that runs our clients’ operations every day. You will own features end to end, from data model to user interface, and keep a multi-tenant production system fast, correct, and reliable as it grows.

You will model complex, regulated business data in relational databases, write SQL, and build interfaces for operators and client staff. You’ll use agentic coding tools while upholding security and quality across US and Israel time zones.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of production web development experience.
• Experience with SQL and relational databases (design, queries, migrations).
• Proficiency with TypeScript and React or Angular.
• Cloud hosting, monitoring, load management, and architecture familiarity.
• Strong engineering practices: CI/CD, automated testing, code reviews.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship features end to end across the stack (data model, backend services, TypeScript frontend).
• Model complex, regulated data in relational databases and write performant SQL.
• Create interfaces for operators and client staff to review and act on results.
• Ensure reliability: monitoring, alerting, performance, and production deployment quality.
• Turn deployments into durable platform capabilities for future clients.

Ark is an AI deployment company building superabundance in knowledge services, starting with retirement and insurance. About the Role

You will build the platform itself - the engine that runs our clients’ operations every day, the processes it executes, and the interfaces their people work in. You will own features end to end, from data model to user interface, and keep a multi-tenant production system fast, correct, and reliable as it grows.

Role and Responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship features end to end across the stack - data model, backend services, and a TypeScript frontend - with clear ownership from first design to production.
• Model complex, regulated business data in relational databases, and write SQL that stays correct and fast as data volumes and the number of clients grow.
• Build interfaces that let operators and client staff review, correct, and approve the platform’s work with confidence, and make complex information simple to act on.
• Own the reliability of what you ship: monitoring, alerting, load and performance, and the architecture decisions that keep the system dependable in production.
• Turn what each deployment teaches us into durable, reusable platform capabilities, so the next client gets them out of the box.
• Use agentic coding tools as a primary means of delivery, while remaining fully accountable for the quality, security, and correctness of everything that ships.
• Raise the engineering bar for the team through thoughtful code review, pragmatic architecture, and clear technical writing.

Requirements

• 5+ years of full stack web development, with a track record of shipping production software that real users depend on.
• Database Management: Hands-on experience with SQL and relational databases - schema design, query performance, and migrations on live systems.
• Frontend Expertise: Proficiency in TypeScript and React or Angular, and an eye for building clear, usable interfaces.
• Cloud & Production: Practical familiarity with cloud hosting platforms, monitoring, load management, and software architecture.
• Strong professional software engineering practice: Git-based workflows, code review as both author and reviewer, automated testing, CI/CD, and safe production release practices.
• Experience with agentic coding tools such as Claude Code or Cursor, and a considered view of where they accelerate delivery and where they require close supervision.
• Care for correctness and security in systems that hold sensitive data, including personally identifiable information.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English, and comfort working across U.S. and Israel time zones.
• Ability to take an ambiguous problem, break it down, and drive it to a working solution without a fully specified brief.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience as a team lead.
• Previous experience at a startup or early-stage small business.
• Experience building with LLMs in production, including evaluation and guardrails.
