Job summary

New York Technology Partners seeks a Senior Software Engineer to advance our proprietary software suite, including a POS, product appraisal, and inventory management system. You will work with engineers, QA, UX Design, and Product to deliver rapid improvements across our software stack.

You will own code quality, write unit/integration tests, and contribute to Shape Up-based development while mentoring teammates and supporting on-call incidents.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience building web applications
• Strong understanding of one or more modern backend languages and frameworks
• Significant experience with modern front-end frameworks and API technologies
• Excellent communication and writing skills
• Resourceful with strong attention to detail
• Ability to produce high-quality code without relying on AI/LLM assistance

Responsibilities

We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our product development team and help build our proprietary software suite into the leading platform in the resale industry. You'll work closely with engineers, QA, UX Design, and Product to deliver rapid improvements across our software systems — which include a point-of-sale platform, a product appraisal application, and an inventory management system.

What You'll Do

• Implement new features and fixes across the entire software stack
• Develop deep familiarity with our proprietary software suite (POS, appraisal, inventory management)
• Own the quality of your code — writing unit and integration tests and testing your own and peers' work
• Improve the reliability and speed of our software products
• Help refine our development release processes
• Support front-line teams in troubleshooting and resolving bugs
• Participate in our "Shape Up" development lifecycle
• Mentor and support fellow team members
• Collaborate closely, actively listen, and value the ideas of others
• Share in occasional on-call/support escalation for critical incidents

What We're Looking For

• 6+ years of experience building web applications
• Strong understanding of one or more modern backend languages and frameworks
