Senior Full Stack Engineer J-4404

Terms: REMOTE; Contract-to-Hire

Compensation: $55-$65/hr., based on experience

Capstone IT is assisting our client, a prominent leader in the insurance and financial services industry, in hiring a Senior Full Stack Engineer for a remote, Contract-to-Hire based in Omaha, NE. In this role, you will develop and maintain scalable web applications using React and Java, build APIs, and manage the full software development lifecycle, including coding, automation, testing, and deployment in both test and production environments. You will also contribute to solution design, mentor team members, and lead technical discussions while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

This position requires extensive experience with React, Java, and modern development practices, along with strong leadership, mentoring, and communication skills. The ideal candidate is adaptable, innovative, and collaborative, thriving in a dynamic environment while effectively managing tasks and contributing to team success. Key technologies include Spring Boot, SQL, REST APIs, microservices, and scripting in Unix and Windows environments.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and maintain scalable web applications using React and Java.
• Write and execute unit tests (e.g., JUnit or Spock) to ensure software reliability and quality.
• Monitor application performance and optimize for scalability and efficiency.
• Design, build, and maintain REST APIs, microservices, and SQL databases.
• Collaborate on ideation and solution design to develop innovative digital applications.
• Conduct code reviews to maintain high standards of code quality and mentor team members.
• Manage version control and implement automation for repetitive development tasks using GitHub.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues as needed.
• Document application architecture, code, and processes to support long-term sustainability.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent area of study.
• Minimum of 7-10 years of professional experience in React and Java development.
• Hands-on experience with Node.js, Webpack, Yarn, NPM, and Typescript.
• Proficient in scripting for both Unix and Windows environments.
• Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and guide team members.
• Familiarity with tools like Groovy, XML, and other front-end frameworks.
• Solid understanding of security best practices in application development.
• Experience designing scalable, high-performance applications within a microservices architecture.
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• A proactive and adaptable mindset with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD) and containerization tools like Docker.
