Qualifications

• 2-7 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong experience with: TypeScript, React, Next.js, Material UI (MUI), D3.js.
• Experience working with Google Cloud Platform, including BigQuery and Cloud Storage.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain modern full stack applications using TypeScript, React, and Next.js
• Build interactive scientific visualizations using D3.js and related visualization technologies
• Develop user interfaces aligned with established design systems and UI standards
• Collaborate with data scientists to create tailored visual experiences for research and analytics workflows
• Consume and display data from BigQuery and other cloud-based sources
• Develop and execute unit, integration, and end-to-end tests using Playwright
• Participate in design reviews and contribute to application architecture decisions
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot and Claude to improve engineering productivity

Job Title: Full-Stack Visualization Engineer

Contract Length: Through the end of 2026 + Possible extensions

Pay Rate: $65.00 - $80.00/hr

One of our large pharmaceutical clients is seeking a Full-Stack Visualization Engineer to support a cutting-edge Causal Biology initiative focused on accelerating drug discovery and target identification. This team is building modern web applications and scientific visualization tools that enable researchers and data scientists to explore complex biological datasets and make data-driven decisions in support of therapeutic development.

The ideal candidate will have strong full stack development experience and a passion for building intuitive, data-rich user experiences. This role will work closely with data scientists and researchers to translate complex biological and analytical data into impactful visual applications.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain modern full stack applications using TypeScript, React, and Next.js
• Build interactive scientific visualizations using D3.js and related visualization technologies
• Develop user interfaces aligned with established design systems and UI standards
• Collaborate with data scientists to create tailored visual experiences for research and analytics workflows
• Consume and display data from BigQuery and other cloud-based sources

Required Skills & Experience:

• 2-7 years of professional software engineering experience

• Experience working with Docker-based deployment environments
• Familiarity with automated testing frameworks such as Playwright
• Strong understanding of responsive UI development and front-end best practices

Nice to Have Skills & Experience:

• Healthcare, life sciences, or pharmaceutical industry experience
• Experience supporting data science or analytics teams
• Familiarity with AI-assisted coding workflows

Compensation:

$65.00/hr to $80.00/hr.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Healthcare benefit packages for this role will start on the 1st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, financial protection benefits, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options. 401k retirement account access is offered starting on the 90th day with employer matching after one year of service. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
