ZipStaff is hiring a Full Stack Development Engineer in McLean, VA for a 12‑month W2 contract. You will collaborate with multiple software development teams to shape architecture, develop onboarding paths for a developer platform, and drive migrations across cloud, databases, and networking.

The role requires 7+ years in software development using TypeScript, Golang or Python and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software development experience with TypeScript, Golang or Python.
• 5+ years of experience with AWS, CI/CD and developer workflow automation (GitHub Actions, ArgoCD or Flux).
• 4+ years of experience with Docker containerization and deployments.
• 4+ years of experience with databases such as MySQL or Postgres.
• 4+ years of experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform or AWS CDK).
• 4+ years of experience with APM and monitoring tools (AWS CloudWatch, New Relic or Grafana).
• Experience using AI tools such as GitHub Copilot for rapid prototyping.

Responsibilities

• Partner with software development teams to understand architecture and tooling.
• Develop onboarding paths and migrate teams onto the platform.
• Translate customer needs into solutions across cloud, databases, networking and full stack apps.
• Lead engineers and collaborate across development teams.

About the Opportunity:

ZipStaff is hiring a Full Stack Development Engineer for our client, a leading U.S. consulting and technology firm. In this professional services role you will work with software development teams to understand their architecture and tooling, build onboarding paths to a developer platform, and help them migrate and solve problems in a fast-paced, agile environment. Candidates must be able to obtain a Secret clearance. Candidates selected for an interview will complete a mandatory identity verification process.

What You'll Do:

• Partner with current and new software development teams to understand their architecture and development environment tooling.
• Develop onboarding paths and assist teams with migration onto the platform.
• Translate customer needs into solutions across cloud, databases, networking and full stack applications.
• Lead engineers and collaborate across development teams.
• Troubleshoot application code and configurations and write technical documentation for engineers.
