Job summary

Select Medical is seeking a Software Development Specialist II (Full-Stack Developer) to design, develop, and support modern healthcare applications. This hybrid role in Mechanicsburg, PA offers work 2 days per week in the office and the chance to work across the full technology stack using React/Angular with .NET and C#.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of hands-on software development experience, strong skills in JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5/CSS3, REST APIs, and solid collaboration in Agile

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of hands‑on software development experience.
• Experience building front-end applications using React and/or Angular.
• Experience developing backend services and APIs using .NET and C#.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript.
• HTML5 and CSS3.
• ASP.NET Core and Web APIs.
• Microsoft SQL Server.
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with object-oriented programming principles and software design patterns.
• Experience with Git-based source control systems.
• Understanding of Agile development methodologies.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain full-stack web applications.
• Build modern, responsive, and accessible user interfaces using React and/or Angular.
• Develop secure, scalable backend services and APIs using .NET and C#.
• Design and optimize database solutions using Microsoft SQL Server.
• Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, UX designers, and other developers to deliver business value.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, demonstrations, and retrospectives.
• Perform code reviews and contribute to coding standards and best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application issues across the front-end, backend, database, and integration layers.
• Support CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps practices.
• Contribute to application modernization and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Create and maintain technical documentation.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions that improve team productivity and software quality.
