Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions seeks a Sr. Full-Stack Developer to shape, support, and scale a government collaboration platform using Drupal and open-source software. You will develop PHP backend, frontend features with JavaScript/TypeScript, and ensure secure, reliable Linux deployments.

The role is hybrid (3 on-site, 2 remote) and requires active TS/SCI CI Poly. Based in Reston, VA, Washington, DC, or Annapolis Junction, MD, you’ll work with Agile teams to deliver impactful capabilities.

Qualifications

• 9 years of software or systems engineering experience.
• Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph clearance.
• Experience building PHP web apps with Drupal CMS.
• Frontend skills in JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frameworks.
• Secure, reliable web apps on Linux; DBs PostgreSQL/Elasticsearch.
• Knowledge of Git workflows, CI/CD, DevOps, Agile/Scrum, SRE.
• Experience with accessibility and UX principles; strong documentation.

Responsibilities

• Shape a Drupal-based collaboration platform and support multiple deployments.
• Influence architecture based on user feedback and requirements.
• Develop PHP web apps and frontend features with JS/TS and frameworks.
• Build secure web apps on Linux, ensure accessibility and UX.

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Sr. Full-Stack Developer with expertise in Drupal and open-source software platforms to shape, support, and scale collaboration software deployments for the modernization of a critical government information system. This position is HYBRID (3 days on site, 2 days work from home) and requires an active TS/SCI CI Poly. This candidate can be based out of Reston, VA, Washington, DC or Annapolis Junction, MD.

Responsibilities for the Sr. Full-Stack Developer:

• Shape a collaboration software platform based on the popular, open-source Drupal Content Management System and other open-source software products.
• Support multiple deployments of the system, each providing important capabilities for a broad array of missions.
• Influence architecture and design decisions based on direct user feedback and requirements.
• Develop PHP-based web applications.
• Build secure, reliable web applications on Linux servers.
• Develop frontend features using JavaScript, TypeScript, and frontend frameworks such as Vue, Angular, or React. Community Engagement & Requirements
• Engage directly with the user community and customer leadership to learn how the system impacts them.
• Capture and validate requirements.
• Demonstrate new features and improvements to stakeholders. Team Collaboration & Process Improvement
• Work with an existing team of talented developers and system support staff.
• Learn from senior-level peers and assist/mentor junior developers.
• Initiate improvements to the development environment, build pipelines, test automation, and other processes.
• Work effectively within Agile / Scrum teams. Technical Standards & Quality
• Apply Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices.
• Implement Git workflows, continuous integration, and DevOps practices.
• Ensure knowledge of web accessibility and user experience design is integrated into features.
• Provide strong technical documentation and presentation skills.

Qualifications for the Sr. Full-Stack Developer

• 9 years of experience in Software or Systems Engineering roles or a highly related field of work with similar scope and responsibilities.
• Education Substitutions: A Bachelor’s degree may be substituted for 4 years of experience and a Master’s degree may be substituted for 6 years of experience.
• Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph Clearance
• Experience developing PHP-based web applications, including work with the Drupal CMS or similar open-source platforms.
• Experience with frontend development using JavaScript and/or TypeScript.
• Experience with frontend frameworks such as Vue, Angular, or React.
• Proficiency in building secure, reliable web applications on Linux servers.
• Experience with relational database systems (e.g., PostgreSQL) and NoSQL or document-based databases (e.g., Elasticsearch).
• Knowledge of, and experience with, Git workflows, continuous integration, and DevOps practices.
• Experience working in Agile / Scrum teams.
• Knowledge of web accessibility and user experience design principles.
• Experience applying Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices.
• Strong technical documentation and presentation skills.

Compensation for the Sr. Full-Stack Developer includes:

• Salary: $155,000 - $200,000 depending on experience
• Comprehensive Benefits Package including Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), PTO, and Paid Holidays
