Job summary

SAS EVAAS team is seeking a seasoned Full Stack Developer to build secure, scalable identity solutions and web applications. You’ll work across front-end, back-end, API, and database layers with a focus on authentication, authorization, and single sign-on capabilities.

Collaborating with product, security, and DevOps, you’ll help shape our identity architecture and contribute to open-source efforts while upholding SAS security policies and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience delivering web applications.
  • Experience across front-end, back-end, APIs, and databases.
  • Experience with identity management and SSO concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain full stack features for an Identity Solution.
  • Build and enhance secure authentication and authorization workflows, including SSO integrations.
  • Work with identity systems and standards such as SAML, OAuth, and OpenID Connect.
  • Collaborate with product, security, DevOps, and engineering teams to ensure reliable identity solution with SLAs.
  • Contribute to shaping the future of our web app and identity architecture.
  • Participate in open-source projects on behalf of SAS.
  • Ensure security policies and processes are followed.

About The Job

As a Full Stack Developer on the SAS EVAAS (Education Visualization and Analytics System) team, you will get in on the ground floor of a new identity solution that will shape the future of secure customer access to EVAAS applications. In this role, you will work across the application stack to build secure, reliable, user-centered web applications, with a particular focus on identity management, authentication, authorization, and single sign-on capabilities that make a difference for students, educators, and the organizations we serve.

As a Full Stack Developer, EVAAS
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain full stack features for an Identity Solution across front-end, back-end, API, and database layers.
  • Build and enhance secure authentication and authorization workflows, including single sign-on integrations for customer-facing applications.
  • Work with identity management systems and standards such as SAML, OAuth, and OpenID Connect to support scalable and repeatable access patterns.
  • Collaborate with product, security, DevOps, and engineering teammates to deliver a highly reliable Identity Solution with strong SLA expectations that enables customer connectivity to the EVAAS reporting application.
  • Apply your skills and experience to help shape the future of our web application and identity architecture.
  • Be encouraged to participate in open-source projects on behalf of SAS.
  • Ensure all applicable security policies and processes are followed to support the organization’s secure software development goals.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience developing and delivering web-based applications.
  • Experience with full stack development, including front-end technologies, back-end services, APIs, and relational databases.
  • Hands-on experience with Java.
  • Experience with identity management systems, authentication, authorization, and single sign-on concepts.
  • Familiarity with SAML-based integrations and related identity standards such as OAuth or OpenID Connect.
  • Experience using version control systems and collaborative software development practices.
  • Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.

  • Experience with the Spring Framework or related Java web application frameworks.
  • Experience with Maven and the Project Object Model (POM).
  • Experience with JavaScript, front-end frameworks, or modern web application development practices.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server or other relational database platforms.
  • Experience with Git, GitHub, and CI/CD workflows.
  • Experience documenting technical decisions, integration patterns, processes, and code.
