Job summary

System One is seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer in Pittsburgh to design, develop, and maintain APIs, microservices, and frontend components using Angular and Java. You will mentor the team, drive best practices, and collaborate across stakeholders on scalable, enterprise-grade solutions.

You will work in a fast-paced, Agile environment, contribute to release planning and deployment activities, and ensure production readiness with robust testing and performance optimization.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of full-stack development experience with Java/J2EE and Angular.
• Strong REST APIs design, Spring Boot, and API tooling experience.
• Experience with XML/JSON, Swagger/OpenAPI, and enterprise web apps.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, and implement APIs, microservices, and frontend components.
• Build responsive and dynamic user interfaces using Angular.
• Lead and mentor development team members while providing technical guidance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build scalable full-stack solutions.
• Drive coding standards, development best practices, and CI/CD adoption.

• Troubleshoot, optimize, and maintain apps across environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, and implement APIs, microservices, and frontend components.
• Build responsive and dynamic user interfaces using Angular.
• Lead and mentor development team members while providing technical guidance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build scalable full-stack solutions.
• Drive coding standards, development best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Develop and unit test Java-based RESTful services and Angular/JavaScript applications.
• Review technical design documentation and provide feedback on architecture, estimates, and implementation strategies.
• Design new systems and enhancements to existing applications.
• Translate business requirements into scalable backend and frontend solutions.
• Participate in release planning and deployment activities.
• Create and manage change requests for production releases.
• Support end-to-end release execution, deployment validation, and production support.
• Troubleshoot, optimize, and maintain applications across all environments.
• Utilize DevOps tools including Jenkins, GitHub, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Work with API management platforms such as Apigee.
• Research and recommend development tools, frameworks, and libraries.

Requirements

• 10+ years of full-stack development experience.
• Strong expertise in:
  • Java/J2EE
  • REST APIs
  • Spring Boot
  • Angular
  • XML
  • JSON
  • Swagger/OpenAPI
• 8+ years of experience developing and consuming RESTful and/or SOAP web services.
• 5+ years of experience with:
  • Angular
  • JavaScript
  • HTML
  • CSS
• 5+ years of experience using GitHub, Jenkins, and CI/CD tools.
• Experience writing unit tests for both Java and JavaScript applications.
• Experience working in Agile software development environments.
• Experience supporting release management processes, including release planning and change request management.
• Experience building and supporting enterprise-scale web applications.
• Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization skills.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership abilities.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with microservices and cloud-native architectures.
• Experience with API management platforms such as Apigee.
• Experience leading development teams and mentoring junior engineers.
• Knowledge of DevOps best practices and enterprise deployment processes.
• Strong understanding of application security and scalable system design.
