Job summary

Airo Digital Labs, LLC is seeking a senior backend engineer to own and scale core platform services. You will develop in Python/FastAPI and JVM stacks, with Postgres/Redis persistence, and containerized deployments on AKS.

You will implement durable workflows with Temporal, connectors and webhooks, and build internal React tooling to support orchestration and admin surfaces. The role emphasizes end-to-end ownership and strong API design.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years building production backend services in Python and JVM.
• Experience shipping services on Azure cloud.
• Ownership of a feature end-to-end: API, persistence, frontend and tests.

• Expose clean, well-documented APIs consumed by the AI engine and instrument services for the central monitoring stack.

Job description

The primary builder of the Platform Product services and the supporting APIs and admin/workflow UIs for Core Intelligence. A polyglot backend engineer comfortable across the Python and JVM ecosystems, with enough front-end depth to deliver internal tooling.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain the Orchestrator, Workflow Builder, Webhooks and Connectors, and the Conduit / MCP / A2A integration surface.
• Implement services in Python / FastAPI and Spring Boot / Kotlin (and Java Spring Boot where applicable), backed by Postgres and Redis.
• Integrate with Temporal for durable workflows and Azure Event Hub for event streaming.
• Build React front-ends for internal admin, orchestration and workflow-builder surfaces.
• Expose clean, well-documented APIs consumed by the AI engine and other PODs; instrument services for the central monitoring stack.

Must-have Skills & Technologies

• Strong Python with FastAPI, and JVM backend with Spring Boot / Kotlin (Java Spring Boot a plus).
• Postgres and Redis; solid SQL and data-modelling fundamentals.
• Event-driven development (Azure Event Hub / Kafka) and workflow engines (Temporal or similar).
• REST and async API design; containerized services running on AKS.

Prior Experience

• 5–8 years building production backend services, with hands-on work in both a Python and a JVM stack.
• Shipped and operated services on a major cloud (Azure preferred).
• Comfortable owning a feature end-to-end: API, persistence, front-end and tests.

Nice to Have

• Experience wiring LLM/agent tool-calling (MCP / A2A, function calling).
• Kotlin coroutines / reactive Spring; performance tuning of high-throughput services.
