Job summary

BLN24 is seeking a Full Stack Developer to support CFPB's RegTech BPA program by building scalable, public-facing applications. The stack spans modern React front ends and back-end services using Scala and Akka, with containerized deployments via CI/CD pipelines in an open-source style environment.

This role requires hands-on experience across the full stack, delivery in an Agile team, and collaboration with architects, designers and product owners.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional full stack development experience.
• Experience with Scala, Akka Toolkit, reactive programming, and actor-based concurrency.
• Demonstrated open-source contributions and public-facing solutions.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and containerized images.
• Knowledge of React and modern front-end techniques (HTML5, CSS3, SASS, Bootstrap).
• Bachelor’s degree in CS or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain public-facing web applications across the full stack.
• Build responsive, accessible user interfaces using React and Bootstrap.
• Develop back-end services using Scala and Akka Toolkit with functional/reactive programming.
• Build and maintain containerized images and support CI/CD pipelines.
• Contribute to open-source codebases, including reviews and releases.

Position Overview:

BLN24 is seeking a Full Stack Developer to support CFPB's RegTech BPA program by building and maintaining scalable, public-facing applications. This role requires hands‑on experience across the full stack, from modern React-based front ends to back-end services built with Scala and Akka, along with experience delivering containerized applications through CI/CD pipelines in an open‑source environment. This role requires experience with Scala and the Akka Toolkit, applying functional programming, reactive programming, and actor-based concurrency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain public-facing web applications across the full stack
• Build responsive, accessible user interfaces using React, HTML5, CSS3, SASS, and Bootstrap
• Develop back-end services using Scala and the Akka Toolkit, applying functional programming, reactive programming, and actor-based concurrency
• Build and maintain containerized images and support CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment
• Contribute to open-source codebases, including code reviews, issue tracking, and public releases
• Support CQRS and event-driven architecture components using PostgreSQL and Cassandra / AWS Keyspaces
• Collaborate with architects, designers, and product owners within an Agile delivery team

Required Qualifications:

• 2+ years of professional full stack development experience
• Experience with functional programming using Scala, including the Akka Toolkit, the reactive programming model, and actor-based concurrency
• Demonstrated experience working on open-source projects, including delivering public-facing solutions
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and building and maintaining containerized images
• Knowledge and experience building applications using the React library
• Experience with front-end web development using modern techniques and frameworks (e.g., HTML5, CSS3, SASS, Responsive Design, and Bootstrap)
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred, or equivalent of four years of professional-level experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working on a CQRS, event-driven architecture using PostgreSQL and Cassandra / AWS Keyspaces
• Experience building and deploying scalable containerized applications using Kubernetes and AWS services architecture
• Prior engagement at CFPB or other federal financial regulators (e.g., FDIC, OCC, SEC, FRB, NCUA)
• Experience delivering solutions in a federal FISMA Moderate or comparable security‑compliance environment
