Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Full-stack Data Scientist for Starlink Reliability in Bastrop, TX. You will build data pipelines and production scoring systems to improve the reliability of Starlink hardware such as dishes, routers, and power supplies.

You’ll work with telemetry, manufacturing, inventory, field-return data, and unstructured data to deploy models and support decisions. You will design feature/data pipelines, train models in production, and create tools used by hardware, production, quality,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, mathematics, electrical engineering, or other STEM discipline
• 4+ years of professional experience in data science, machine learning, or software engineering
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL
• Experience building production data pipelines
• Experience deploying machine learning models in production
• Master’s degree (or PhD) with 3+ years experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain data pipelines, infrastructure, and software to increase reliability of Starlink hardware
• Design and operate feature, label, and scoring data for reliability models
• Train, validate, and iterate models for hardware failure prediction
• Deploy and operate models in production with monitoring and versioning
• Contribute to Starlink software repos and internal tools
• Build analytics tools, APIs, and applications for multiple teams
• Collaborate to turn analyses into design and process changes
• Identify customer needs and work independently under deadlines
