Job Description: Department of Veterans Affairs Cloud Enterprise Architect (Remote)

GovCIO is seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect with deep expertise in cloud engineering to support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Office of Technology (OIT). This fully remote position involves collaborating with senior OIT partners, architects, business stakeholders, and functional consultants to optimize IT investments and solutions, focusing on secure, scalable, and resilient cloud architecture.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop a comprehensive understanding of VA IT architecture, business operations, and modernization initiatives.
2. Build trusted advisory relationships with Product Line Technical leaders, providing strategic guidance and technical expertise.
3. Design and refine technology roadmaps aligned with organizational goals.
4. Support and advocate for the intake process of new initiatives, ensuring alignment with business needs.
5. Communicate technical perspectives clearly and confidently in discussions.
6. Document and report on the value delivery of IT initiatives to demonstrate impact and inform decisions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related fields; equivalent experience accepted.
• 5-8+ years of experience in technical management within complex IT environments.
• Exceptional communication skills tailored to diverse audiences.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with VA OIT, VBA, VHA initiatives.
• Jira expertise and workflow management skills.
• Enterprise technology design and future-state architecture experience.

Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a Suitability/Public Trust Clearance.
