Job summary

Vanda Pharmaceuticals, Inc. in Washington, DC is seeking an experienced Full Stack Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable web apps using Ruby on Rails and modern frontend frameworks.

You will build RESTful APIs, collaborate with stakeholders, work with PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and DynamoDB, and integrate Salesforce platforms and payment gateways. Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional experience as a Full Stack Developer
• Strong proficiency in Ruby and Ruby on Rails
• Strong frontend development experience with VueJS, ReactJS, and TypeScript
• Experience with BlueprintJS, TailwindCSS, and/or Bootstrap
• Experience developing RESTful APIs and GraphQL services
• Familiarity with GraphiQL and API debugging tools
• Strong experience with PostgreSQL and MySQL databases
• Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB and DynamoDB
• Familiarity with Nuxt, Next.js, or other modern frontend frameworks
• Experience with Cypress or similar frontend testing frameworks
• Experience integrating Salesforce platforms and APIs
• Experience integrating payment gateways such as Stripe and Authorize.net
• Experience with Git version control and CI/CD workflows
• Familiarity with AWS cloud services and deployment practices
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Excellent communication and analytical skills

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable full stack web applications
• Build responsive and high-performance user interfaces using modern frontend technologies
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and GraphQL services
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand workflows and build scalable solutions
• Develop reusable frontend components and scalable backend architectures
• Work with relational and NoSQL databases
• Integrate Salesforce integrations and data synchronization workflows
• Integrate third-party services and payment gateways
• Build secure authentication, authorization, and RBAC systems
• Implement automated testing and quality assurance processes
• Optimize applications for scalability, reliability, performance, and security
• Work with AWS cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines
• Participate in code reviews, debugging, and continuous platform improvements
• Ensure applications comply with healthcare and data security standards
• Support data processing workflows and ETL pipelines using healthcare datasets
