Job summary

Thinking Machines is seeking a Full Stack Engineer to design, build, and ship AI-powered products from the ground up in San Francisco. You will own both frontend and backend work, from APIs to production-grade interfaces, often moving concepts from prototype to real user surfaces within weeks.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with ownership across frontend and backend systems.
• Strong track record shipping production web applications end to end—from data model and API design to polished UIs.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship full stack features across web applications, including backend services, APIs, and frontend interfaces.
• Prototype rapidly with new model capabilities to turn research into usable product experiences.
• Take new product ideas from rough concept to live surfaces with quick iteration based on feedback.
• Partner with researchers to translate model behavior into product decisions.
• Work with design and product to define what to build, not just how to build it.
• Own the technical architecture, including scalability, reliability, and maintainability as products mature.
• Help set engineering practices and technical standards for the team.
