Job summary

EmpowerMama is a PA Medicaid-enrolled doula agency providing non-medical support from pregnancy through the early weeks of parenthood. Doulas work home-based and in communities to meet physical, emotional, and informational needs of families.

Qualified candidates will have full-spectrum or postpartum training, CPR, and background checks. Flexible hours and on-call availability are required; compensation is per session of care delivered.

Qualifications

• English fluency required; second language preferred.
• Complete full spectrum or postpartum doula training and certification; birth doula preferred.
• PA Medicaid provider enrollment required.
• Reliable transportation for home visits and birth support.
• Pass background check; CPR certification required.
• PCB Doula certification or eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous emotional, physical, and informational support during labor and delivery.
• Deliver home-based and community care through perinatal and postpartum period.
• Assist with newborn care, breastfeeding information, and infant soothing.
• Advocate for families and connect with healthcare providers and resources.
• Light household duties to support recovery and bonding.
• Support older siblings and coordinate referrals as needed.
