Job Description

Job Title: Housekeeper/Room Attendant

Responsible for cleaning guest rooms to hotel standards, reporting maintenance issues, and handling guest requests or complaints. Maintain confidentiality and security of guest rooms.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Other duties may be assigned.

1. Use proper cleaning chemicals for surfaces, in accordance with OSHA regulations and hotel policies.
2. Clean assigned guest rooms thoroughly.
3. Transport cleaning supplies, amenities, and linens to guest rooms securely.
4. Empty trash and recycling bins.
5. Replace soiled linens with clean ones.
6. Clean bathroom surfaces, mirrors, and floors, removing dirt, soap scum, and hair.
7. Make beds with clean linen and replace laundry bags and slips.
8. Clean closets, door tracks, and remove dust and debris; ensure proper placement of hangers and amenities.
9. Dust and polish furniture, pictures, mirrors, light fixtures, switches, TV, remote, etc.
10. Realign furniture as needed.
11. Inspect drawers and doors for left items, dust inside, and remove debris from under beds and furniture.
12. Report repairs or damages to maintenance or supervisor.
13. Clean doors, drapes, windows, ledges, baseboards, AC units, and telephones.
14. Ensure fire safety items are present and in good condition.
15. Vacuum entire room and other areas as needed.
16. Update room status and stock supply carts and storage areas.
17. Secure guest room keys and handle lost and found items appropriately.
18. Clean and replenish room amenities.
19. Handle guest complaints professionally to ensure satisfaction.
20. Report damages or maintenance issues promptly.
21. Know hotel fire and emergency procedures.
22. Follow Lost and Found policies, including key control.
23. Perform other cleaning duties as directed, including making up cribs and rollaway beds.

Education and/or Experience

Minimum of 6 months experience in a similar role, preferably with brand-specific knowledge. Familiarity with chemical handling safety.

Physical Demands

Must regularly stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. Occasionally climb or balance. Frequently lift/move up to 50 pounds. Reasonable accommodations available for disabilities.
