Job summary

The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is seeking a Payroll Manager to oversee the biweekly payroll process, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time while complying with federal, state, and local payroll laws. This role also assists with retroactive wage adjustments, garnishments and tax processing as a back up to the Sr.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or related field.
• Minimum 9–10 years of payroll experience.
• Experience with multi-state payroll tax administration and expatriate taxation.
• Experience with ERP systems and modern HRIS/Payroll software (ADP, Oracle, Workday).

Responsibilities

• Payroll Processing: Manage full payroll cycle, including gross-to-net calculations, direct deposits, bonuses and off-cycle payments.
• Compliance & Taxes: Ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable laws, regulations and company policies.
• Auditing & Controls: Run periodic audits and maintain standard operating procedures.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with HR and Finance to synchronize data and entries.
• Payroll Systems: Administer and maintain payroll systems and upgrades.
• People Management: May supervise staff and develop team.
