Job summary

Strides Therapy & Educational Services is seeking a School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to support students in the Charleston Area. The role includes assessments, plan development, and evidence-based interventions in collaboration with teachers and families.

The ideal candidate holds SC State licensure, SC Board of Education licensure, and ASHA CCC-SLP (or CF). Experience in schools or private practice is preferred, with a strong commitment to culturally competent care.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • SC State licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Educator Certificate (if applicable).
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA unless a CF.

Responsibilities

  • The Speech Language Pathologist will conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments to identify students' communication disorders and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide evidence-based speech and language pathology interventions and strategies to improve students' communication, articulation, fluency, and language skills.
  • Collaborate closely with educators, parents, and other members of the school-based team to create and implement strategies that support students' participation in the classroom and social activities.
  • Monitor and document students' progress, adapting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Offer guidance and education to parents, teachers, and support staff on strategies to enhance students' communication skills and facilitate carryover into the classroom.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including session notes, progress reports, and billing documentation.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, team meetings, and school-based professional development opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulations and ethical standards governing speech-language pathology services in schools.

Position Overview:

As a School-Based Speech Language Pathologist, you will play a vital role in helping students overcome communication challenges, improve their speech and language skills, and achieve their educational goals. Your expertise will be essential in promoting students' overall success and well-being in the school environment.

Additional Details:
  • Caseload of 45 Students k-5 elementary aged students
  • Requires an educator's certification and SC SLP Licensure

Qualifications
  • Master's degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
