Job summary

Amazon in Cherry Valley, Illinois is hiring a Workplace Health & Safety Specialist (WHSS) to lead safety programs, audits, investigations, and training. You will collaborate with frontline teams to promote a proactive safety culture and protect our associates across shifts.

Qualifications

High school or equivalent.
A minimum of 1 year in an environmental Health & Safety (EHS) related field OR a bachelor's degree in EHS-related background OR 6 months Amazon safety experience.
Knowledge of OSHA regulations specifically 29 CFR 1910.
Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel in a professional capacity.
Experience maintaining confidentiality in matter involving security and/or personal issues in the workplace.

Responsibilities

Drive safety programs through data-driven strategies and lead audits, investigations, and risk assessments.
Advocate for associate wellbeing and partner with leadership to drive safety culture.
Perform daily safety audits, incident investigations, and risk assessments.
Deliver engaging safety training to associates.
