Job summary

X-energy LLC is seeking a technically adept professional to serve as the liaison between Business Development and our engineering teams in Oak Ridge, TN. You will translate customer needs into internal requests, coordinate across R&D, Regulatory, Licensing, and Legal, and support both pre- and post-contract activities while maintaining clear, compliant communications.

• Willingness to learn in a highly regulated nuclear/quality culture and to work under document-control and communications rules
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office / collaboration tools; comfort with structured issue tracking
• Willingness to travel occasionally (~10–25%)

Responsibilities

• Serve as the day-to-day technical point of contact for assigned customers and BD pursuits, coordinating inputs across R&D, Operations, Engineering, Regulatory, Licensing, QA, Transportation, and Legal Support pre-contract activities
• Support post-contract activities: technical issue tracking, change communication, delivery/milestones questions, and customer onboarding handoffs to delivery teams
• Translate customer questions into scoped internal requests; synthesize cross-functional answers into clear, customer-ready responses (with appropriate review)
• Maintain a living issues/actions log for each account or opportunity; escalate risks, schedule conflicts, and open technical gaps to BD and functional leads
• Prepare and support customer meetings (agendas, technical slides, action capture, follow-ups)
• Build working knowledge of TRISO fuel, plant interfaces, licensing/regulatory basics, and transportation/packaging considerations sufficient to ask the right questions and route work correctly
• Protect proprietary and sensitive information; follow company procedures for document control, export control, and external communications
• Travel occasionally for customer visits, industry meetings/conferences, or site support as needed
• Contribute to continuous improvement of playbooks, FAQs, and standard response packages used by BD and Sales Engineering
• Maintain professional demeanor and behavior at all times in all forms of communication. Perform other duties as assigned by manager.

Job Description

Partner with Business Development as the technical liaison for prospective and contracted customers. This role translates customer technical needs into clear internal asks and returns accurate, timely answers from Engineering, Regulatory, Licensing, Transportation, and Legal — before and after a sales contract. The position is ideal for a degreed engineer who communicates well, learns quickly in a regulated nuclear environment, and wants customer-facing role.

Compensation

As required by Maryland and other applicable state law, X Energy, LLC (X-energy) lists the expected compensation range for a publicly advertised job opportunity based upon the job requirements (e.g. education/training, experience, skill sets, etc.). Offers within the posted salary range are commensurate with the individual’s qualifications for the position, along with a view on internal equity, market data, and room for growth. The salary range for this position is: $107,500 to $142,500
