Job summary

Koda Energy, a subsidiary of Rahr Corporation, is hiring a Plant Helper to support biomass fuel handling in Shakopee, MN. Starting pay is competitive with bonuses and strong benefits; 90% of medical premiums are paid by the company.

The role involves unloading fuel, operating conveyors and related equipment, and maintaining safe work practices. A high school diploma or GED is required, with experience on skid steers or wheel loaders and the ability to obtain a boiler operator license in

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience operating heavy wheeled equipment (skid steers, wheel loaders).
• Ability to obtain a Minnesota Special Boiler Operator license.

Responsibilities

• Unload biomass fuel from trucks and load into the hopper.
• Operate and maintain fuel handling equipment ( conveyors, bag houses, pumps, valves, and air compressors).
• Maintain a safe work environment with PPE and safety training; follow SDSs.
• Record data such as pressures, temperatures and flows; perform trend analysis.
• Keep neat, accurate records (written and electronic).
• Complete preventative and corrective maintenance items.
• All other duties as assigned.

Koda Energy is looking for a Plant Helper to join our team in Shakopee Minnesota. The plant helper is responsible for cleaning and sanitation of the plant work areas.

You will be responsible for:

• Unloading biomass fuel from trucks and load fuel into the appropriate hopper
• Operating and maintaining fuel handling equipment such as chain conveyors, belt conveyors, bag houses, pumps, valves and air compressors
• Maintaining a safe work environment by using personal protective equipment, participate in safety training, follow safety procedures and adhering to all applicable SDSs
• Recording data such as pressures, temperatures and flows and perform trend analysis on data
• Maintaining neat and accurate records, both written and electronic
• Completing preventative and corrective maintenance items
• All other duties or responsibilities as assigned

Things you will need:

• High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
• Previous experience using heavy wheeled equipment, such as skid steers and wheel loaders.
• Ability to become proficient at operating a front-end loader and bobcat
• Flexibility to work a rotating shift schedule, planned and unplanned shutdowns and vacation relief
• Ability to work in adverse conditions such as extreme weather, at heights and confined spaces
• Ability to obtain a Special Boiler Operator’s license from the State of Minnesota
