Job summary

Ryder is hiring a Fueler Service Technician in Jeffersonville, Indiana — a stable career with weekly pay and strong benefits. You will fuel vehicles, perform inspections, and maintain fuel inventories in a safety‑driven environment.

The position offers evening hours (2:30 pm – 11:00 pm), Monday–Friday with weekends off, paid training, PPE/uniforms, tool and boot allowance, and opportunities for advancement within Ryder's service network.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Up to one year of experience preferred / no experience required.
• Proficiency in English written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read and understand codes and instructions on the computer; basic data entry skills.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• CDL Class A preferred.
• DOT safety regulated position; must obtain CDL within 6 months after hire; pass drug test, DOT physical, road test, and background check.

Responsibilities

• Fuel vehicles.
• Wash and detail vehicles; move heavy duty vehicles.
• Perform multi-point inspection on inbound units per company policies; check tire pressure and report issues.
• Record fuel activity and maintain inventories and reconciliation.
• Maintain fuel island area to Six Sigma standards and policies.
• Perform some facility maintenance and minor tasks as assigned by supervisor.
• Change tires.
• Inspect refrigeration units on trucks.
• Empty trash.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
• Up to one (1) year of experience preferred /no experience required
• Proficiency in English written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated customer service skills; must be able to understand customer's verbal communication
• Understanding of computer hardware and software, especially word processing, spreadsheets, and email. Must be able to read and understand codes and instructions on the computer; must have basic computer skills and ability to perform data entry Must be 18 years of age or older
• High degree of thoroughness and dependability; must be able to work flexible schedules including shift work, weekends,and holidays; must be able to work at different locations
• Ability to:

• DOT Safety Regulated Position; This position requires for you to drive Ryder vehicles. In order to become a Ryder employee you must:
• Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years

Safety Sensitive Position

Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor vehicle records check and a road test; and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.
