Job summary

Olsson Associates in Fayetteville, AR seeks an experienced FTTx Designer to create fiber-to-the-x network designs and constructible plan sets. You will size boundaries, analyze large GIS datasets, and determine feeder routes using parcel data, ROW, and easements.

You will review field data, identify obstructions, and produce high-quality plan sets while leveraging GIS tools like ArcGIS and AutoCAD. The role emphasizes collaboration and community impact.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, interpret, create maps and plan sets.
• Ability to edit and create PDF documents (Bluebeam or Adobe skills).
• Associate’s/bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• General knowledge in OSP construction methods and best practices.
• 3-6 years of FTTx design and/or OSP experience.
• General knowledge of FTTx and/or OSP networks is required.
• Knowledge of Google Earth KMZ files.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD based software is preferred.
• Knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS Software products is preferred.
• Knowledge of asset management platforms is preferred ((IQGEO, NetDesigner, CrescentLink, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Create FTTx designs and plan sets using GIS-based software.
• Size serving boundaries and determine feeder and distribution routes.
• Review field data, as-builts, and staking sheets for constructible outputs.
• Identify obstructions via aerial imagery and existing utilities; ensure constructible plans.
