Job summary

GFiber, an Alphabet company delivering Google Fiber services, seeks a Special Projects Manager for Southern California metro deployments in Irvine. You will help deploy and operate FTTH networks, leading deployment and operations teams while coordinating with city officials to meet business targets.

The role requires engineering/telecom background, 5+ years in fiber deployments, and vendor management; MBA preferred. Base salary ranges with bonus and benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Telecommunications or closely related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with fiber network deployments, outside and inside plant fiber infrastructure.
• 5 years of experience leading teams and vendor management.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting costs, project reporting, capacity planning, QA, equipment turn-up, testing and acceptance.

Responsibilities

• Support deployment and operation of GFiber’s FTTH build in a metropolitan area; lead Deployment/Operations teams.
• Ensure alignment between design and service delivery for the customer network deployment.
• Coordinate with city officials and utility representatives to meet business targets.
• Lead GIS, network planning, engineering design cycles, permitting, bids, scopes and approvals for FTTH to SFUs, MDUs, SBUs.
