Job summary

ADUSA Transportation, the transportation arm of Ahold Delhaiza USA, seeks a Transportation Lead in our VA area DC to supervise dispatch, coordinate deliveries, and support drivers while maintaining safety and efficiency.

In this hands-on leadership position you will partner with the Transportation Manager, manage trailer inventory, and participate in special projects. Overnight travel may be required; a HS diploma and DOT familiarity are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age.
• Knowledge of DOT and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations along with Transportation Logistics.
• Knowledge of proper use of equipment.
• Reach, bend, stoop and lift up to 70 lbs.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Support dispatch office activities.
• Coordinate store directions and load coordination.
• Assist in trailer inventory and monitoring of trailers on yard.
• Make recommendations for modifications to procedures or processes impacting their work group or distribution center to maximize efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with Delhaize America standards in accuracy, safety and productivity.
• Handle phone calls from store personnel, vendors, and other partnerships regarding service issues and special requests.
• Evaluate coordination of loads to ensure efficient and timely load deliveries to our stores.
• Work with Corporate Fleet Manager on trailer inventory, utilization, and tracking.
• Work with other departments within the facility to achieve and maintain overall production standards.
• Some overnight travel and willingness to work a flexible schedule.
• Any other duties assigned by leadership.

Position Summary: Transportation Lead

Support to transportation with dispatch area, lead training, and to meet and maintain production standards. Work within the department and many areas of the organization, but not limited to; logistics, COP, corporate, vendors, dispatch, retail, and drivers to maintain company standards and customer service. This will be a working leadership position to handle daily functions, issues, and projects and to be seen as a leader and/or go to person in the office under the direction of, and in the absence of, the Transportation Supervisor or Manager. Coordination of retail deliveries with backhauls, for hire, mixing center loads and DC to DC transfers. Be a support person to the Transportation Manager. Assist in special projects, problems, or concerns for the Transportation Department.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Delhaize America standards in the areas of accuracy, safety and productivity.
• Handle phone calls from store personnel, vendors, and other partnerships regarding service issues & special requests.
• Evaluate coordination of loads to ensure efficient and timely load deliveries to our stores
• Work with Corporate Fleet Manager, with trailer inventory, utilization, tractor replacement, trailer non-movement reporting, and trailer tracking.
• Work with other departments within the facility to achieve and maintain overall production standards.
• Ensure compliance with Delhaize America standards in the areas of accuracy, safety and productivity
• Some overnight travel and willingness to work a flexible schedule
• Any other duties assigned by leadership

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age
• Knowledge of DOT and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations along with Transportation Logistics.
• Knowledge of proper use of equipment.

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

• Working knowledge of warehouse and transportation systems
