Job summary

MUSC Florence Medical Center, part of the Medical University of South Carolina, is seeking a full-time Pharmacy Technician to join the inpatient team in Florence, SC. Under pharmacist supervision, you will assist with medication prep, distribution, IV therapies, and documentation.

Required is a High School Diploma and a state-certified Pharmacy Technician program; hospital experience is preferred. State health benefits and retirement are provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; certified pharmacy technician program completed.
• State Certified Pharmacy Technician licensure is required.
• Experience in hospital or health system settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists with operations related to preparation and distribution of medications.

Job Description

Working under the direct supervision of the pharmacists, the pharmacy technician assists with all pharmacy operations related to the preparation and distribution of medications, including IV chemotherapy and non-chemotherapy IV doses, and the completion of medication-related documentation.

Education:

• High School Diploma required; college-level courses desirable but not required; successful completion of a certified pharmacy technician training program required

Experience:

• (Preferred) two or more years of experience in a hospital or health system.
• Sterile IV compounding experience preferred

Licensures/Certifications:

• State Certified Pharmacy Technician
