Primary Purpose
Support the management and duties of store operations to meet financial and sales goals. Build associate and customer relations and promote a strong culture in support of Food Lion Strategy. Maintain solid communications with the management team, all associates in the store and throughout the organization.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Manage the Produce Department, including hiring, training and developing department associates.
- Supervise the performance of all duties and responsibilities of department associates and provide ongoing performance management, training and conduct timely formal performance appraisals for direct reports.
- Manage labor daily (expected live) and coach associates to achieve productivity expectations.
- Provide leadership and motivation within the store to promote a culture reflective of our Guiding Principles, Core Values, Vision and Strategy.
- Support the achievement of budgeted financial and operating results.
- Create an enthusiastic customer atmosphere with a focus on fast, easy, flexible, and friendly service to ensure a positive shopping experience.
- Model outstanding, friendly customer service and use product knowledge to meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Control store expenses through proper ordering, supplies, and equipment care.
- Utilize company tools such as financial reports, ACIS, scheduling, productivity, CAO, and business information systems.
- Maintain department appearance, quality, variety, safety, food safety, and sanitation standards.
- Write department schedules to ensure excellent customer service at all times.
- Understand and manage scheduling, sales, projections, wages, interviewing, hiring, training, and other department management tasks.
- Ensure proper ordering, receiving, preparation, and display of merchandise in accordance with policies.
- Monitor and correct unsafe conditions to prevent accidents.
- Record and report accidents per procedures.
- Monitor shrinkage and coach staff to prevent losses.
- Ensure proper use of advertising, sales promotion materials, and signage.
- Comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Adhere to company policies and standards.
- Maintain security standards.
- Complete required training courses.
- Recognize achievements and provide constructive feedback to enhance customer satisfaction and sales.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
- Understanding of store operations preferred.
- Willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements.
- Ability to solve problems using technical information.
- Leadership skills to direct others.
- Meet minimum age requirements.
- Ability to meet physical requirements with or without accommodations.
- Certified Food Safety Manager accreditation or willingness to obtain within 90 days.
