What You'll be Doing:
  1. Ensure all equipment and facilities are operating effectively and efficiently in order to support all operations. Make sure all equipment meets standards, codes and regulatory requirements.
  2. Carry out the duties in a productive manner and learn skills available through training and job shadowing. Training will be offered and is necessary to move from various levels as well as a demonstrated ability to perform the work at current level based on assessment by manager.
  3. Enter work into the computer maintenance system throughout work shift and use to investigate and identify repeat repairs and previous work performed on that equipment.
  4. Perform routine repairs and preventative maintenance on all equipment and systems as necessary.
  5. Be proficient in performing preventative and predictive maintenance with assistance.
  6. Able to safely shut down systems and equipment and meet all standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
  7. Able to troubleshoot and assist other mechanics when performing work on systems and equipment.
  8. Meet evaluation standards on work orders and observations by management to assess and evaluate skill level and proficiency within maintenance department.
  9. Able to provide guidance and training to Maintenance Support Associates.
  10. Remain proficient in maintenance trade as required and stay current with today's technology as required and offered by training courses/classes.
  11. Make recommendations for modifications to procedures or processes impacting their work group or center that will maximize efficiency, productivity, and reduce costs.
  12. Ensure compliance with Delhaize America standards in the areas of accuracy, safety and productivity.
  13. Perform works at minimal skill levels in areas of safety, electrical, electronics, refrigeration, material handling, mechanical, welding, fire systems, domestic water/waste water (where applicable).
  14. Follow good sanitation practices; keep work area clean and free of debris.

Basic Qualification:
  1. High school education or equivalent.
  2. Mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  3. Successful completion of assessment evaluation to demonstrate experience and proficiency in areas or tasks assigned.

Preferred Qualification:
  1. Prior experience in mechanical areas.
  2. Certified on powered industrial equipment where applicable.
  3. Familiarity/experience in maintenance environment.

The individual will need to show minimal experience, expertise, and proficiency in the following essential functions to be hired or hold a Mechanic B level position in one or more of the following areas based on assessment by manager:
  • Safety
  • Electrical
  • Refrigeration
  • Material Handling
  • Mechanical
  • Welding
  • Fire Systems
  • Domestic Water/Waste Water
  • Mechanics are required to supply their own tools.

Skills/Abilities:
  1. Possess good communication, verbal and written skills.
  2. Dexterity with both hands.
  3. Electrical Certification.
  4. Knowledge and understanding of schematic / blueprint documents.
  5. Ability to reach, stoop, bend, and lift up to and including 80 lbs.
  6. Ability to communicate and complete required record keeping functions.
  7. Must be able to work needed schedule to perform assigned duties with minimal supervision.
  8. Ability to work in a Freezer environment (temperature varies within each department) for long periods of time.
  9. Able to perform work in difficult body positions and environmental conditions from time to time.
  10. Work in a warehouse environment with varying conditions (i.e. cool temperatures, concrete floors, powered industrial trucks).
  11. Ability to read and understand written and numeric product identifiers.
  12. Able to gain knowledge and learn more complex tasks as experience is gained over time.
  13. Be able to provide guidance / coordination with the operation and maintenance staff.

Schedule:
  • Sunday through Thursday, 8hr shifts 7:00AM to 3:30PM

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.78 - $42.31 per hour
