Qualifications

  • Graduate of an approved, accredited ARRT program with documented mammography training.
  • Current ARRT licensure and Mammography certification (ARRT-M) required; SCRQSA radiologic technologist license and CPR certification.
  • One year of diagnostic radiology experience preferred, and at least one year mammography experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all Mammography procedures in accordance with ACR, TDH, MQSA, and state regulations.
  • Maintenance of QA, regulatory compliance, and survey preparedness.
  • Demonstrate patient-centered care across diverse populations; ensure competencies.
  • Other duties as deemed necessary by Radiologist/Radiology Director.

Job Description

The Mammography Technologist, under the direction of the Radiologist and Radiology Director, performs all Mammography procedures in accordance with ACR, TDH, MQSA, state regulations, and departmental policies. Possesses highly technical skills to operate sophisticated equipment for the above-mentioned examinations. Responsible for QA maintenance, regulatory compliance, survey preparations, and competencies. The Technologist must exhibit expertise in patient care based on needs appropriate for all patient demographics. Other duties as deemed necessary.

Education

Graduate of an approved, accredited A.R.R.T. program. Documented mammography training.

Experience

One year of diagnostic radiology experience is preferred, and at least one year mammography experience is required, proving initiative and sound judgment required for utilizing and maintaining established guidelines of care by the MQSA.

Licenses/Certificates
  • Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT).
  • Mammography certification required (ARRT-M)
  • Licensed as a radiologic technologist by the SCRQSA
  • CPR certification required.
